Justiene Davis — Mystic Botanica

Justiene Davis

Hi y'all, I'm Justiene — the heart and hands behind Mystic Botanica.

I've been drawn to healing since I was three years old, helping my Nana with healing touch. Little did I know, those moments were planting the seeds of my life's work. But it wasn't until I lost my father to an overdose of prescription drugs that my purpose fully came into focus. It was my defining moment; when this stopped being curiosity and became a calling. The medicine that exists in nature — that our ancestors used long before pharmaceuticals existed — felt like the answer to a question I'd been carrying my whole life.

So I went all in. Formal training, years of study, small batches made by hand. Now, alongside my partner Bre, my daughter Arya, and our two dogs, I've made it my life's work to craft remedies that help others reconnect with their true selves and bring balance to their body, mind, and soul. Mystic Botanica is my offering to those seeking healing that is transformative and sacred. It's a clinical herbalism practice built for people who are tired of being dismissed, misdiagnosed, and handed a pill for everything they feel.

More about me: I love my life — my family, friends and community are everything. My deepest passion is helping (and loving) others. I'm a Leo Sun, Libra Moon, Cancer Rising — which means I'm equal parts fire, fairness, and feelings, and I bring all of that into this work. I love the woods, spoken word, yoga, and the mystery of the human body. I love being a mom more than anything. And I love making plant medicine that actually works.

Choosing this path opened my eyes in ways I never anticipated. It led me to unlearn old habits and embrace the ancient wisdom of healing that has been passed down (and in some unfortunate circumstances — lost or stolen) through generations. It's become my purpose to share what I've learned with those who are ready to reconnect with their own healing power, their inner wisdom, and the natural world around them.

Even though I have formal certifications as a Clinical Herbalist, I believe herbalism is a calling. Nature herself shares her secrets with those who are open to listening, and my role is to be a conduit between the plants and the people. I'll always be a student of the Earth, here to inspire others to heal themselves. My work isn't just about what I've learned in books, though that's been an important part of the journey. It's about the deep, personal connection I have with the plants I use and the lessons I've learned on my own path. I'm not here to claim I know everything — far from it — but I've spent years honing my craft and learning from the land, and I'm here to share that knowledge, not just as your herbalist but as a guide on your healing journey.

Healing is deeply personal, and it's not something that happens overnight. I believe wholeheartedly that “Healing begins from within.” It's the core of everything I do at Mystic Botanica. Each of us holds the power to heal ourselves, and the role of herbs and spiritual practices is to support and awaken that power. True healing takes time, intuition, and trust in the process. My goal is to help you reconnect with nature's gifts, to become a compassionate caretaker of your own body, and to embrace the beautiful, unique path of your healing. It's not just about easing symptoms — it's about bringing balance back to your mind, body, and spirit and rediscovering the magic that's always been within you.

I don't believe in following any one system or philosophy. I have pieced my personal beliefs together through personal experience and delving into a wide variety of teachings (something I highly recommend you do as well!). I take what resonates, and I leave what doesn't — knowing that what may not seem relevant today could hold value down the road. We still have a lot to learn about how the human body functions, how the food we consume affects us, and how herbs work their magic within us. Science doesn't always have the answers when it comes to the delicate connection between plants and our bodies — but it's this very mystery that makes their power so captivating.

Keep your mind open and your heart even more so.

That's the energy I bring into every interaction — whether it's with clients, crafting products, or in my daily practice. I'm here to offer guidance, share remedies, and pass on the wisdom I've gathered, but I will always encourage you to do your own exploration. It's all about finding what feels aligned with you. No single herb, diet, or approach works the same for everyone. Despite what people might think, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. The right herb or method is the one that resonates with your body and your unique journey.

How do you figure out what's truly right for you? It starts with patience. Trust in your own process. Change always begins in the mind, and once that happens, the body follows. That's why it's so important to take a close look at your lifestyle and the current state of your mind, body, and spirit before choosing any healing practice or herbal remedy.

Jumping into a fast or the latest trend isn't always the best move — and that's totally fine. It doesn't mean fasting or that trendy new approach won't work; it just means the right thing at the wrong time is still not right. Healing is layered and personal, and every step has its purpose. One step doesn't trump another. It's all part of the path, and every piece plays a role.

I'm here to remind you (because we all need the reminder) to be gentle with yourself. Never compare your journey to someone else's. We're just like the herbs we work with — complex, unique, and beautifully individual. Healing is deeply personal, and one of the most empowering things you can do is to invest time in reconnecting with yourself.

My goal is to provide you with herbs and remedies that bring your mind, body, and spirit back into alignment. Remedies that ease pain, inspire clarity, uplift your heart, and help detox and restore your body through the potent energies of plants.

xoxo Justiene

At Mystic Botanica, we honor the ancient wisdom that nature has always provided. We know that true healing doesn't come from masking symptoms, but from nourishing the body at its core. As more souls awaken to the limitations of modern pharmaceuticals, they are turning back to the Earth — seeking remedies that align with their natural rhythms. This is where we come in, offering plant-based healing that empowers your body to restore itself, naturally and holistically.

Our potions, brews, and botanical creations are all born from the finest organic herbs and fruits, sourced sustainably from the Earth's bounty. Each item is crafted with intention, prepared in small batches to retain the potency and purity of every ingredient.

Our mission at Mystic Botanica is to help you reconnect with your innate power to heal. Through plant medicine, we aim to inspire and guide you in taking your health into your own hands, trusting in the sacred bond between your body and the natural world around you.

Herbs are not meant to mimic pharmaceuticals, and they don't work the same way. They have their own magic, their own rhythm.

A common mistake is thinking an herb can simply replace a drug in the same way. Sure, there are cases where an herb can offer similar benefits — like valerian for sleep instead of a pharmaceutical sedative — but herbs aren't designed to force the body into submission. They're about nurturing balance and working with the body's natural processes, which takes more time and requires a different approach. Herbs do their best work when they're part of a holistic system, a formula designed to address your whole being.

While pharmaceuticals are often made up of a few isolated chemicals designed for a specific action, herbs are complex, containing hundreds of natural compounds that work together. Their strength is in their complexity. Instead of suppressing a single symptom, they harmonize with the body, supporting it on multiple levels at once.

Pharmaceutical studies are often short-term, and the full picture of their side effects doesn't emerge until months or years later. It's common to see many medications pulled off the shelves because of harmful long-term effects. Herbs, however, have been used for centuries, and when used in their whole form, they come with natural safeguards. Take lavender as an example: using pure essential oil on the skin can cause irritation, but when you work with the whole plant, you get all the benefits without the harshness. This is how nature protects us — through balance.

The beauty of herbs is in how they work with the entire body, not just isolated parts. They teach us to respect the whole, both within ourselves and in the remedies we choose.

At the end of the day, healing is an ancient wisdom that's already within you. Passed down from our ancestors and rooted in the Earth, everything you need to heal exists around you — and more importantly, within you. When you align yourself with nature's rhythm, you rediscover the power of medicinal magic.

Our Commitment to Inclusivity and Community
